Looking for a great total body exercise? The TRX Squat Row is a great way to warm up and activate your posterior chain; think lats, rhomboids, rear deltoids, hamstrings, and glutes. In addition, this movement requires full core engagement and helps strengthen the upper and middle back, deltoids, biceps, and quads.
Using a TRX Suspension Trainer, a Squat Row can be done various ways. This video demonstrates squatting with a Mid-Row; this is a safe and effective total body combination move. The modified rowing position allows for safe range of motion and helps preserve optimal shoulder-elbow-wrist alignment, while minimizing excessive force on the shoulder joint.
Gauge your fitness level while performing this exercise. If you can perform 15 reps with good form, increase the resistance by stepping forward towards the anchor. Always work within YOUR pain free range and meet YOUR body where it is.
